• good notes ($30-one-time): my note taking app of choice, i uses this for notes, as a planner, brainstorms, and sketches for designs. vector based which is a plus. i hate that good notes 6 costs so much bc i only paid $9 for goodnotes 5, but still a good tool.

• vector halftone maker : browser tool to covert static image formats (png & svg) to halftone patterns and download as png or svg

• p5.riso : a p5.js library that allows you to code print ready files for risograph printing. you can also use it to code/design prints or edit images with halftone effects, plus more. love this tool sm actually very simple to use.

• kits4beats : hella free firee music tools + drum kits and plugins. most of my sound kits come from here and are really good.
• dexed : vst synth modeled on the yamaha dx7. super fire and if you go on reddit there are so banks bc it has a big community. i use it for pretty pads and pianos for r&b
• tyrelln6 : free but good vst plugin. good freaky sounds
• labs spitfire audio : high quality instrument packs. my fav is their rhodes electric piano, completely free with account
• vital : powerful synth, great free alternative to serum. first plugin i got, good for beginners and many presets can be found for free online
• surge xt : open source synth, hella diff good sounds
• rio leyva youtube : his vids are so helpful for getting started with learning to make music, esp his making chords and melodies one

• purity ($50) : my favvv vst. beautiful sounds and popular for rap & rnb. hella banks online too
• xpand!2 ($30 on sale) : only get this vst if its on sale or free. honestly a very good beginner vst bc it has sooooooo many sounds, you could make do w just this. hits have been made off this by big artists
• plugin boutique ($varies) : deals on music plugins, esp during black friday and end of year sales
• splice : many free sounds with sign up, also some free plugins or rent to own.
